Company information
The history of our firm goes back to 1984 when a special team was formed within
State Aviation Works PZL "Warszawa - Okęcie". Its aim was to design
and manufacture aircraft simulators. In 1988 this team was reshaped into an
independent group for innovations and technology introduction and later, in
1991, transformed into a limited company. The majority stake in this company
is owned by American public company Environmental
Tectonics Corporation, while the remaining shares are owned by EADS-PZL "Warszawa-Okęcie" S.A.
ETC-PZL Aerospace Industries specialises in designing and manufacturing
of various types of simulators and training devises. It also modernizes the
existing ones and carries out adaptations. It develops and upgrades terrain
data bases of the simulators and training devices. Customers for our products
and services are mainly Air Forces as well as Land Forces of Poland and many
other countries.
The company begun with modernising and servicing of the training devises for
MiG-21bis aircraft. Later it actually manufactured a new simulator for this
aircraft in the digital technology. Simultaneously, work was conducted on development
and manufacture of flight simulator built on 6 DoF motion system, commissioned
by Military Institute of Aviation Medicine. It was to be used for research
and is still in operation to this date.
The success of those two programs and very good opinion of the users resulted
in other projects commissioned by the MoD: the development of
flight simulators for jet training aircraft TS-11 ISKRA and PZL-130
ORLIK turbo prop training aircraft, Su-22M4 combat aircraft and the helicopter W-3
SOKÓŁ. Other simulators were also ordered: simulators with more simplified
visual projection systems and various types of training devises e.g. egress
procedure trainer. Some of the simulators built here were equipped with 6 DoF
motion systems, developed and assembled by our company.
For the Polish Land Forces ETC-PZL Aerospace Industries in co-operation with
OBRUM (Polish armoured vehicles research and development centre) designed and
manufactured whole crew training simulator of the PT-91 Main
Battle Tank.
Our products are addressed not only to military customers. We also built an
EP09 locomotive simulator and visual passenger carriage monitoring system for
Polish State Railways.
Since 1998 we have been working on joint projects with the Environmental Tectonics
Corporation, preparing software and terrain data bases for a variety of simulators
and training devises used by military and civilian pilots. Our software and
terrain data bases are installed, among others, in the spatial disorientation
trainers, centrifuge based dynamic flight simulators, simulators for tactical
training of the emergency services commanders and drivers of special vehicles.
We also do research and development work in order to find new technologies
and develop newer tools for creating terrain data bases.
Our products are used in many countries. Our technical solutions and our technologically
advanced products of high quality and reliability are appreciated by the users.
It is also worth mentioning that our firm prepares and develops our programs
in co-operation with most renowned suppliers of the computer equipment and
visual presentations systems.
Very high quality of the services offered and constant contact with the clients
allows us to maintain high technical and training effectiveness of our products,
to upgrade and adapt them systematically for new requirements of the users.
ETC-PZL Aerospace Industries products received prestigious awards and distinctions,
like the title of the Mistrz Techniki - Warszawa (Champion of Technology) and
Wicemistrz Techniki - Polska (Vice Champion of Technology) or a DEFENDER award
at the MSPO -International Defence Industry Trade Fair in Kielce.
