Simulator for electric locomotive EP09

Simulator for electric locomotive EP09 series is used to train drivers of passenger and freight trains. It is also used for the indispensable advanced training, i.e. reacting to emergency and dangerous situations.

General description of the simulator

The interior of the simulator is a copy of the real locomotive EP09 cabin. All gauges and control devices are imitated, while their appearance, indications and reactions to the operators input are identical to those in the real locomotive. The cabin is positioned on six degree-of-freedom motion systems, and has a acoustic system simulating the sounds of all on-board machinery as well as outside noises generated normally during ride. The simulator is also equipped with a one-channel out-of-the-window projection display system.
The operation of the simulator and the exercise is controlled by the Instructor Station placed in a separate room.

The terrain data base covers over 300 km of real railway track.

The simulator was delivered to Polish State Railways in December 1996 and upgraded in 2003.
